On the EAA Conference on May 12th, 2022 European actuaries discussed Data Science & Data Ethics. Prof. Kraft (Coburg University) and Dr. Bartel (RealRate Inc.) contributed with their novel approach of fair and explainable company ratings. They showcased their most recent rating of all German life insurers. Using graph techniques they succeeded in identifying and visually showing the strengths and weaknesses of the insurance companies. All the inputs and results are disclosed, providing maximum transparency.
